Butterfly 2 and Nest 2
With "Butterfly 2," I am trying to add a textured background to give the piece a more substantive atmosphere (less graphic). I posted the progression of the Nest painting just because I have put it to the side for awhile. I think I have decided to finish the pen & ink elements and then I am going to go in with colored circles--What do you think?

the nest is looking great - I like to see how it takes shape through the progress photos.
ReplyDeletebutterfly (thought it was vanity?) 2 - it has more a look of being consumed by something - the looks on the faces now seem a little scared... if that makes sense.. I like the concept, but I'm not sure how I feel about this image specifically - maybe there are too many things happening now.
what if you tried it with actual images from a magazine - or parts of different people images from magazines and distorted it?
Yeah, I am not sure the vanity image is working...it is suppose to be disturbing though, so it is difficult to tell. I am going to send you this painting in the mail with some other pieces to see what you can do. I'll post the other pieces as I draw them.
