More iPhone pics of works-in-progress

Let me know your thoughts -- keep in mind, these are taken with my iPhone in my basement, so the actual pictures are not this dark.

Work-in-progress/process -- Hope series

No comments:

Again, the picture that I took (in my basement with an iPhone) is darker than the actual pic, and there is a glare from the light in the middle, but you get the idea -- background is an abstraction of the Detroit river. Let me know your thoughts.

ArtBlast

So the show at Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center ended up including only three of my pieces, rather than ten, because of space limitations. I am still happy with how everything turned out.
All in all, it looks like they are going to have a great event. I took a few pictures, which does not give the decorations at the BBAC justice -- it really looks good and I am sure it will be a success.

Here are two more -- again bad pictures (darker than they appear in person). Let me know your thoughts.

New piece for Hope series

Again, I took a horrible picture of one of my new paintings, but I think you can get the general feel for the piece. The lower left hand corner is not darker than the rest of the piece--that is just my shadow from taking a picture with my iphone. Any way, let me know what you think.

Work-in-progress; background for Hope series

Kelly, I finished (?) the background for one of my "Hope" paintings. This is the large panel piece (58.5" x 47"). The picture is not great, but just let me know your thoughts.

New Hope

2 comments:

Bad photo of a work-in-progress -- let me know your thoughts. This is inspired by the American collection at the Detroit Institute of Arts; specifically, Martin Johnson Heade's oil painting, Hummingbirds and Orchids (http://www.dia.org/object-info/e82453ad-0fbc-4946-95f4-7145aff9a839.aspx). My piece is done with gouache paint trying to look like oil paint. Like my other pieces, I am going to add pen & ink elements to this. Stay tuned.
