Aesop's Fables: "The Bee and Jupiter," and "The Ant and the Grasshopper"
As you can see, I am still working on the bee one. The grasshopper painting was the result of my trying to see if I could paint fake marble, and then I decided I wanted to make the painting look like a chalk drawing on a marble wall.
Let me know your thoughts...these are really fun.

Aesop's Fables-The Fisherman and the Little Fish
This is the first attempt of creating a painting based off of classic illustration--I am not that happy with it, but it has given me more ideas. This is a collaboration--your painting is the base. Let me know your thoughts. Material= pen & ink, silver marker, and watercolor.

Inspiration: John Tenniel
I am doing some sketches for new work based on pen and ink illustrations (similar to the Little Red Riding Hood painting I did in college). I am looking at some Aesop fables, and I am also reviewing some color theory basics (good resource colormatters.com )
I am particularly inspired by John Tenniel's illustrations for the original Alice in Wonderland.
